In my early 20's I traveled alone, at the time my work schedule only allowed me to go away during May and/or October, not exactly the high season. Although I went to far off exotic place, met loads of friendly people, dealt with culture shock and learned a lot about myself, nothing beats going away with friends. I now focus on short trips with girlfriends to major cities (preferably USA). Nothing will change my views or experiences overseas, but hanging out with a couple of girlfriends in an awesome city is what I prefer these days.
A few weeks back two of my girlfriends, their significant others and myself went to Toronto, a wedding outside of T.O. and then my one girlfriend and I headed to the Windy city. More pictures to come!
ICE CREAM. We left Vancouver in pants, cardigans and carrying umbrellas. :-D
CHAMPAGNE after the I do's. Lake Ontario is the darker blue line behind us.
Two cute Canadians being Missourians for the day.
About to leave Canada for Michigan! Road trip.
And here is my adorable puppy (who lives with my parents) who is too hot and lazy to bend down for a drink. All together now, Aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Summer has arrived...
And I am oh so late on everything. I'm behind on updating and I'm going to start making notes of when to keep on top of this. This is suppose to be my quick and easy diary to look back on, so no more excuses.
Just a few pictures I found on my phone (the rest are on my computer at home and there is so much editing that needs to be done before I can post). I don't have a lot of excuses as to why I haven't posted in a while, I haven't been feeling as creative lately which is bull as I always seem to be doing something. I think it's because I've been transitioning into sewing from knitting and needed to get a little bit more comfortable with the change in fabric. I have my next sewing projects lined up and I'm grabbing the fabric this weekend!
There has been a lot of out of town trips, a little bit of recovery from a bike accident :-( which made me a bit scared of bikes and changed this entire summer. It was suppose to be one of my most active summers yet while training for a biking event but landing on my hip had me barely walking for a week and now I'm just getting my groove back with riding. Next year will be the year!
So for now I need to work on regular blogging, regular hobbies and if I have to I'll have to buy a calendar to remind me what to work on next :-)

CBC - The Passionate Eye - Episode - Diamond Queen Part 1
Wowzers. This link takes you to CBC, so only available in Canada for streaming from this site. It's a BBC production so search for it within your own country. 3 parts, interviews with the Grandchillins, and one fascinating, hard working woman that will bring tears to your eyes (well, my eyes).

End of season projects
I finished up some more fingerless mittens. Although their days are numbered, they'll be nice and new for next winter. I based these on my favorite mitten pattern and just stopped them where I thought it would be best.
These are some baby booties that I made for family and friends. Unfortunately they are small and the picture doesn't give them justice. They were super easy to make and they fit like a glove.
And thanks to pinterest I found these cute little guys for an easy baby shower game.
What to do next, it's something I've been trying to figure out for a week. Any suggestions?

Happy Valentine's Day!
I have had over 30 Valentine's days and only 2 were spent with a special someone and I didn't properly celebrate them because I don't really like Valentine's. It's not that I have a sour view towards it, I just don't like the commercial market machine behind it. I love the idea of Valentine's and love it even more when couples just spend time together doing something they love, but I do feel bad for those who take it personally and get upset during this time of the year.
Besides all that, I received what every girl wants.
I entered a giveaway this weekend at my bank and they gave me this gorgeous bouquet last night. It's incredibly beautiful and thankfully I have 2 lovely roomies to share it with.
I really really really really wanted to wear my red pants today as it's been a few weeks, but stopped myself at the last minute remembering what day it was. I didn't want to be That Girl that is too excited for Valentines. So I wore my new burnt orange cardie instead. Oh, and got to work with a valentine's chocolate waiting for me.
And to top off the day I get to spend tonight with my bestie at the gym. Yay, even though I'm a single old lady ;-) I'm really enjoying this year.

K-nitting
I've realised that I haven't been producing a lot of knitted products lately. I have spent most of my knitting time making my own patterns for my body by trial and error. I have almost perfected a fingerless mitt for my tiny hands, but there is still room for improvement (and although this yarn is beautiful, it is very stiff and I think I will save it for other projects).
I find most fingerless mitten patterns to have a very long arm and wrist in them. Yes, they look great but if you are already wearing a sweater under your jacket it is just too much fabric. I'm hoping that this experiment period will be over soon and I can have multiple pairs for next winter!
